A new home at Urban Escape for Kindred’s tech superstars

Thu, 23 May, 2019

We were honored to welcome former F1 World Champion, Mika Häkkinen and tennis star, Robin Söderling to officially launch Kindred’s awesome Stockholm hub. 323 Kindred employees and contractors will be based in the purpose-built state-of-the-art office in the Urban Escape complex at the heart of Stockholm.

Kindred CEO, Henrik Tjärnström, said "Our new office truly represents our unique Kindred spirit. We are multi-national, multi-lingual, and multi-brand. We are growing and the fight for talent is fierce, which is why we are investing in our employee experience – an important step for our future".

The number one operator across all our markets

Today, Kindred runs a large share of its tech development business from Stockholm and with neighbours like Spotify, Microsoft and Klarna, the new Stockholm hub verifies Kindred’s place at the heart of the tech industry in Stockholm. Kindred is one of Europe’s leading online gambling companies, with brands such as Unibet, MariaCasino, Bingo.com, StanJames and 32Red in the portfolio. The ambition is to be the number one operator across all markets and by more than doubling the office space in Stockholm – from the current 3,000 sqm to 8,000 sqm – we will offer a stimulating and top modern working environment for current and future employees.

A great place to work

Kindred has grown rapidly in recent years, currently employing around 1,500 people worldwide and expecting to hire 250 new employees to the cutting edge and eco-friendly Stockholm hub. We put people at the forefront and continue to focus on building great places to work. A few years back, the team in Gibraltar relocated to premises at the World Trade Centre whilst the London based team of 400-strong moved into a brand-new office space in Wimbledon, followed by the team in Malta last summer, who moved to breathtaking views at Tigne Point. As a testament to Kindred’s commitment, Kindred was recognised as one of the UK’s top 30 workplaces in the category 251-1000 employees, at Great Place to Work’s Best Workplaces Awards earlier this month. These are just some of the things underlining all of the hard work Kindred has invested in creating and nurturing a great culture and working environment for its people.

At Kindred, we believe that our success depends on attracting and keeping the greatest talent. In fact, the wellbeing of our people is fundamental to Kindreds core which is why we conduct a yearly in-depth survey to define and share feedback on how to ensure that Kindred is a great place to work.

Competition for talent is tough

From the Stockholm hub, Kindred’s top-class teams will connect and collaborate with other Kindred teams around the world to deliver cutting edge technology and a great experience for our customers. We operate in a market where competition for skilled and ambitious employees is fierce, and even as a company at the forefront of our industry we need to fight to attract the greatest talent. The new base in Stockholm will allow us to continue our rapid growth and help Kindred become one of Stockholm’s most attractive places to work.

It’s not all hard work though…There’s plenty of space in the Stockholm hub to relax over a game of table tennis, pool or the gaming consoles. It also holds some of the most stunning views around overlooking the city.

It’s been a great journey to get here…but this is just the next chapter! Why not join us? Find your next opportunity here
