Denmark has Folkemødet, Peoples Week, at Bornholm, Norway has Arendalsuka, Arendal Week, and Sweden has Almedalsveckan, Almedalen Week at Gotland. Three unique democratic gatherings where everyone can join. It is almost like the FA-Cup for political interested and NGO´s. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal and the purpose is to function as a democratic meeting place for everyone.
Folkemødet
This year Kindred Group is participating in all three gatherings. Folkemødet was first one out and Kindred was represented in panels and discussions by Kim Olesen, General Manager Denmark, Per Marxén, PR Manager and Anna Jein, Sustainability Manager: “This was my first year at Folkemødet, and I truly enjoyed participating. Folkemødet is a great opportunity to meet and debate with stakeholders on important topics such as responsible gambling. It is a unique opportunity to gather and debate freely with people from opposing parties and views, and as such really contributes to healthy debates and exchange of ideas and information" summarises Anna.
Almedalen
Arendal Week starts mid-August so Almedalen is up next and this year Kindred Group’s flagship brand Unibet is sharing stage with Swedish Elite Football, SEF, to whom they are also main sponsors. On Monday the 4th of July ,SEF and Unibet will host two seminars. The first seminar, Can the sport sector and gambling operators work responsibly together?, will focus on how football and the Swedish sport sector can work together with gambling operators in a sustainable manner. The second seminar will focus on match-fixing, How do we win the game against match-fixing? And as the last event for the day Kindred and Unibet invite to a mingle event with the title According to the odds - Who wins the election game?
“Kindred and Unibet will, once again, visit Almedalen to help make issues related to gambling and the gambling industry visible and discussed. As a tech and gambling company with the ambition to be a leader in sustainable gaming, it is natural for us to participate. Both to share our expertise, but also to learn and bring new knowledge home”, explains Pär Nygårds, Corporate Affairs Manager at Kindred Group on why it is important to join Almedalen.
The seminars are free of attendance, and you will find SEF and Unibet at Hansaplatsen, Donnersgatan 6. And if you can´t make it to Almedalen you can follow the live streaming of the two seminars with SEF here and According to the odds - Who wins the election game? here.
