Supporting sports through platinum sponsorship of Island Games

This year, Kindred Group is a platinum sponsor of the upcoming Gibraltar 2019 NatWest International Island Games. We were founded on a passion for sports, so we are proud and excited to support Island Games. We look forward to seeing the community join together in what will surely be a truly memorable event.

Small Islands, Big Game

The NatWest International Island Games is a chance for small islands and nations to compete competitively in a number of sports. It has gone from 700 participants, 15 islands/small nations and seven sports at the first games in 1987, to 2500 participants, 24 islands/small nations and 14 sports. 

The sports being competed at this games will be athletics, ten pin bowling, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, swimming, cycling, triathlon, sailing, tennis, table tennis, shooting, squash and judo.
The following islands are members of the International Island Games Association: Alderney, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Faroe Islands, Froya, Gibraltar, Gotland, Guernsey, Greenland, Hitra, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Jersey, Menorca, Orkney, Rhodes, Saaremaa, St. Helena, Sark, Shetland, Western Isle, Ynys Mon and Åland.

The Games take place between 6th July and 12th July 2019 at venues across the Gibraltar. It promises to be a great event for participants, spectators and the local community. Tickets for the games are free and will give the community the chance to go and support the local competitors.

Leader in Sustainability

Contributing to our communities is a key pillar for our sustainability framework. Kindred have 240 staff in Gibraltar and with our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) benefit, where every staff member gets three days a year to support the local community, this is a fantastic opportunity for Kindred employees to contribute to the success of the Games as well.
